What I Offer!
Nutrition has a far-reaching impact on the health of your body and your mind, and new evidence is supporting a strong link between nutrition and mental health. Although I don’t belong to a single nutrition philosophy, I believe that good nutrition:
asks you to care about the food you are eating,
focuses on food quality,
helps to eliminate nutrient deficiencies,
helps to control appetite and food intake,
promotes regular exercise,
and should not be an overwhelming task.
More importantly, good nutrition helps us look, feel, and perform our best. Thus, nutrition is about far more than managing calories. I'll help you make smarter food choices for a healthier body and mind. I'll assess your current eating habits, identify areas for improvement, and help you implement changes gradually. This is not a one-size-fits-all plan. It's customized to you, taking into account your metabolism, activity levels, and nutritional needs.
In today's fast-paced world, it's challenging for most of us to maintain a clean, whole-foods diet 100 percent of the time. Even if we do, declining soil quality, a growing toxic burden, and other challenges of the modern world have made it difficult to meet our nutrient needs through food alone.
The fact is, food today is nowhere near as nutritious as it was fifty years ago. So, no matter how healthy you eat, you're not really eating healthy. As a Fullscript Affiliate Nurse, I have access to lines of products to help close the gaps in your diet and ensure that you're getting all the nutrients you need to thrive—not just survive—and live a long, healthy life.
Health and Wellness Coaching
From blood pressure to stress management, I’ll make sure you're not only fit but also healthy. Being a masters prepared nurse educated from a top ranked program and having worked in functional medicine, I have the knowledge and understanding to review your medical history and blood tests as to guide you in making informed decisions regarding your nutrition and exercise. I'll look at markers like cholesterol levels, glucose levels, and other vital signs to give you a comprehensive understanding of your health. From there, we'll develop a strategy to improve any areas that need attention, incorporating both exercise and nutrition plans.
For example, I take blood pressure and heart rate measurements because high blood pressure, or hypertension, is the most important risk factor for premature death, accounting for half of all deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and 13.5% of all deaths each year.
Behavioral and lifestyle changes that I can teach you will help lower your blood pressure and resting heart rate while increasing your heart rate variability, which are signs of cardiovascular health, efficiency, and nervous system resilience. In addition, I offer evidenced-based guidance on hydration, sleep hygiene, stress management, and mindfulness so you can cultivate the awareness of yourself and your surroundings, build your resilience, and hone your ability to find a greater level of inner peace even as you move through life's inevitable ups and downs.
